Bytewise XOR distance between two 32-byte keyspace points. Cheap (one AVX register on 64-bit) and the only function the bucket index depends on.
Operates on raw bytes so it serves the cross-domain case ADR 022 relies on:
a NodeId and a ContentHash share the same 256-bit XOR keyspace, so the
FindValue path measures a content hash’s distance to candidate node ids
with this primitive. xor_distance is the NodeId-vs-NodeId wrapper.
