pub enum PasswordUse {
Create,
Unlock,
}Expand description
What the caller is about to do with the keystore password, which is what decides whether the interactive prompt asks once or twice.
Each call site names which one it means, so the reason for the double entry travels with the argument.
Variants§
Create
The command CREATES the keystore. The prompt asks twice and requires the entries to match: a password typed once has nothing to check it against, so a typo would be encrypted into the file and stay undiscovered until the next unlock fails, by which point the key is unrecoverable.
Unlock
The command opens a keystore that already exists. One entry is enough — a wrong password simply fails to decrypt, and says so immediately.
