Enum EntryKind

pub enum EntryKind {

    Hudi,
    Directory,
    Unknown,
}
Expand description

What a home-screen row represents.

Variants§

§

File

A single data file.

§

Other

A file datui has no reader for: hidden on home until Ctrl+A shows it dimmed.

§

Hive

A directory of key=value partitions — one dataset, not a tree to walk.

§

MultiFile

A directory of similarly-shaped data files, openable as one table.

§

Delta

A Delta Lake table: _delta_log/ beside the data files.

§

Iceberg

An Apache Iceberg table: metadata/ holding the snapshots, data/ the files.

§

Hudi

An Apache Hudi table: .hoodie/ holding the timeline.

§

Directory

An ordinary directory, to descend into.

§

Unknown

Somewhere remote not looked at yet: classifying would read it, which blocks when the network is gone, so it is offered as openable, unlabeled. Also what an unrecognized kind deserializes as, so an older build can still read a dataset index written by a newer one (see CLASSIFIER_VERSION).

Implementations§

Source§

impl EntryKind

Source

pub fn label(self) -> &'static str

Short label shown next to the entry name.

Source

pub fn is_dataset(self) -> bool

Whether selecting this entry opens a dataset rather than navigating. An unexamined remote path counts: datui can open a prefix or hive directory directly.

Source

pub fn is_known_dataset(self) -> bool

Whether this row is known to be a dataset, for counting: unlike EntryKind::is_dataset (“may this be opened”), a row nothing has looked into does not count.

Source

pub fn is_lake_table(self) -> bool

A Delta, Iceberg or Hudi table root: a log beside the data files that says which of them are live, which datui does not read yet.

Source

pub fn lake_name(self) -> Option<&'static str>

The format’s name for prose; label is the row’s lowercase chip.
