MimeType

Struct MimeType

Source
pub struct MimeType { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

A parsed MIME type: its essence (type/subtype, lowercase) and its parameters.

Parameter names are lowercase, and only the first occurrence of each is kept, the way browsers do it. Parameters that aren’t valid are dropped rather than making the whole MIME type invalid.

Implementations§

Source§

impl MimeType

Source

pub fn parse(input: &str) -> Result<MimeType, Error>

Parses a MIME type, failing if its type/subtype part isn’t valid.

Source

pub fn essence(&self) -> &str

The type/subtype part, lowercase (e.g. "image/svg+xml").

Source

pub fn main_type(&self) -> &str

The part before the slash (e.g. "image").

Source

pub fn subtype(&self) -> &str

The part after the slash (e.g. "svg+xml").

Source

pub fn parameters(&self) -> impl Iterator<Item = (&str, &str)>

Iterates over parameters as (name, value) pairs, in order.

Source

pub fn parameter(&self, name: &str) -> Option<&str>

Returns the value of a parameter (names are case-insensitive).

Source

pub fn charset(&self) -> Option<&str>

The charset parameter, if present.
