# Third-party notices
The NVIDIA NVDEC ABI declarations in `crates/zvidlib-hardware/src/nvdec.rs` are derived from the
`nvcuvid.h` and `cuviddec.h` headers in NVIDIA's Video Codec SDK samples.

Portions of `crates/zvidlib-av1-encoder/src/` and of the encoder-side transforms in
`crates/zvidlib-av1/src/av1_encoder/` are adapted from the M0 lossless AV1 intra-keyframe
encoder in [gamut](https://github.com/justin13888/gamut), commit
`50e76fd1c8a315c02808d74c95ca9eb6e97a0e8d`. Those portions were modified for
zvidlib's dependency-free monochrome AV1 Main-profile backend.

The VP8 probability, quantizer and mode tables in `crates/zvidlib-vp8/src/tables.rs` are
transcribed from the reference decoder published in RFC 6386 section 20, and
`crates/zvidlib-vp8/src/` follows that decoder's structure. The VP8 test vectors and their MD5
files in `crates/zvidlib-vp8/tests/fixtures/vp8/` are from the libvpx project. Both are

The VP9 decoder's constant tables (`crates/zvidlib-vp9-decoder/src/vp9_dec/tables.rs`) and its
one-dimensional inverse transforms (`crates/zvidlib-vp9-decoder/src/vp9_dec/idct1d.rs`) are generated
from libvpx's `vp9/common` and `vpx_dsp` sources, and the rest of
`crates/zvidlib-vp9-decoder/src/vp9_dec/` follows the structure of libvpx's VP9 decoder, so that it
decodes bit for bit as libvpx does.
The VP9 default probability, quantizer and interpolation filter tables in
`crates/zvidlib-vp9-encoder/src/tables.rs` are generated from [libvpx](https://chromium.googlesource.com/webm/libvpx)
(`vp9/common/vp9_entropy.c`, `vp9_entropymode.c`, `vp9_quant_common.c` and
`vp9_filter.c`), and the 4x4 forward transform in `crates/zvidlib-vp9-encoder/src/dsp.rs`
follows its `vp9/encoder/vp9_dct.c`.

`crates/zvidlib-vorbis-decoder/src/vorbis_decoder/` is the Vorbis decoder of
[Symphonia](https://github.com/pdeljanov/Symphonia), `symphonia-codec-vorbis`
0.5.5, modified by zvidlib to decode streams of more than two channels
correctly and in the Vorbis channel order; the changes are listed at the top of
`crates/zvidlib-vorbis-decoder/src/vorbis_decoder/mod.rs`. `crates/zvidlib-vorbis-decoder/src/vorbis_simd/kernels.rs` and
`crates/zvidlib-vorbis-decoder/src/vorbis_simd/imdct.rs` restructure its synthesis loops and
`symphonia-core` 0.5.5's inverse MDCT for runtime-dispatched SIMD. Those files

`crates/zvidlib-vorbis-encoder/src/vorbis_encoder/` is a port of the encoder in libvorbis 1.3.7
(https://xiph.org/vorbis/), and its `tables/gen_*.rs` files are generated from
libvorbis's own tables by `tools/vorbis_encoder/gen_tables.py`. The tools under
`tools/vorbis_encoder/` build the unmodified libvorbis the port is checked
against.
