## Migrating from `serde_yaml`

To migrate with minimal code changes, use Cargo's package renaming:

```toml
[dependencies]
serde_yaml = { package = "yaml_serde", version = "0.10" }
```

This lets you keep all your existing `use serde_yaml::` imports unchanged.

Alternatively, update your imports directly:

```toml
[dependencies]
yaml_serde = "0.10"
```

Then change `use serde_yaml::` to `use yaml_serde::` in your code.

## Using Serde YAML

[API documentation is available in rustdoc form][docs.rs] but the general idea
is:

It can also be used with Serde's derive macros to handle structs and enums
defined in your program.

[dependencies]
serde = { version = "1.0", features = ["derive"] }
yaml_serde = "0.10"
```

Structs serialize in the obvious way:

Enums serialize using YAML's `!tag` syntax to identify the variant name.
