## Wallet & Keys

### What is a recovery phrase?

A recovery phrase (seed phrase/mnemonic) is 12-24 words that can regenerate all your private keys. **Whoever has these words controls your funds.**

### Can I use my existing MetaMask/Phantom wallet?

Yes! Import your existing recovery phrase into Xorion. Your addresses will be the same (BIP-44 standard).

### I lost my password. Can you reset it?

No one can reset your password. But you can:
1. Reinstall Xorion
2. Import wallet using recovery phrase
3. Set new password

**This is why backing up recovery phrase is critical!**

### I lost my recovery phrase. Can you help?

**No.** If you lose your recovery phrase AND lose access to your device, your funds are permanently inaccessible. There is no "forgot password" for blockchain.

### Can I have multiple wallets?

Yes! Create unlimited wallets within Xorion, each with its own recovery phrase.

### What's the difference between Ethereum and Solana addresses?

- **Ethereum**: 0x... (42 characters, hex)
- **Solana**: Base58 encoded (32-44 characters)

Both derived from same recovery phrase but use different algorithms.

### Can I customize my address?

Not directly. Addresses are mathematically derived from private keys. Some vanity address generators exist but require significant computation.

---

## Transactions

### Why is my transaction pending?

Possible reasons:
- Network congestion
- Gas price too low
- RPC node issues
- Nonce conflict

**Solutions:**
- Wait (may confirm eventually)
- Speed up transaction (increase gas)
- Cancel and resend

### What are gas fees?

Gas fees compensate validators for processing transactions. Fees vary by:
- Network demand
- Transaction complexity
- Blockchain used

Ethereum typically most expensive, Solana very cheap.

### Can I reverse a transaction?

**No.** Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Always double-check:
- Recipient address
- Network
- Amount

### What if I send to wrong network?

Example: Sending ETH on Solana network.

**Result**: Funds likely lost permanently. Some cross-chain bridges can recover, but not guaranteed.

### How long do transactions take?

| Network | Average Time |
|---------|-------------|
| Solana | ~400ms |
| Polygon | 2-5 seconds |
| Ethereum | 15 seconds - 5 minutes |
| Bitcoin | 10-60 minutes |

### Why did my transaction fail?

Common reasons:
- Insufficient gas
- Slippage too low (DeFi swaps)
- Contract reverted
- Insufficient balance

Gas fees are still charged for failed transactions.

---

## Privacy Features

### What are private transactions?

Private transactions hide:
- Sender identity
- Recipient identity
- Transaction amount

Still verifiable on blockchain via zero-knowledge proofs.

### How do zk-SNARKs work?

Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge allows proving something is true without revealing the underlying data.

Example: Prove you have enough balance without revealing actual balance.

### Are private transactions completely anonymous?

Not perfectly. Advanced analysis might reveal patterns. For maximum privacy:
- Use Tor/VPN
- Don't link shielded addresses to identity
- Avoid mixing with public funds frequently

### Do private transactions cost more?

Yes, because:
- Generating proofs requires computation
- Larger transaction size
- Additional verification steps

Typically 2-5x regular transaction fees.

### Can authorities trace private transactions?

With viewing keys, you can selectively disclose transaction details. Without viewing keys, extremely difficult even for governments.

### Is using privacy features legal?

In most jurisdictions, yes. However:
- Some countries restrict privacy tools
- May raise flags for compliance
- Always follow local laws

---

## dApps

### What are dApps?

Decentralized applications run on blockchain/Web3 infrastructure instead of centralized servers.

### How do I install dApps?

1. Open Xorion
2. Go to "dApps" tab
3. Browse or search
4. Click "Install"
5. Review permissions
6. Approve

### Are dApps safe?

Generally yes, but:
- Review permissions carefully
- Check developer reputation
- Start with small amounts
- Look for security audits

Xorion sandboxes dApps to limit potential damage.

### Can dApps access my private keys?

**Never.** dApps can only:
- Request addresses (read-only)
- Request transaction signing (you approve)
- Access permitted storage

Private keys never leave secure storage.

### How do I uninstall dApps?

Settings → dApps → Select dApp → Uninstall

### Can I create my own dApp?

Yes! See [Developer Guide](docs/DEVELOPER_GUIDE.md) and [Tutorials](docs/TUTORIALS.md).

### Do dApps cost money?

Installing is free. Using dApps may require:
- Gas fees for blockchain interactions
- Service fees (protocol-specific)
- Subscription (if applicable)

---

## IPFS Storage

### What is IPFS?

InterPlanetary File System is a decentralized, peer-to-peer file storage network. Files are content-addressed, not location-addressed.

### How is IPFS different from cloud storage?

| IPFS | Cloud Storage |
|------|--------------|
| Decentralized | Centralized servers |
| Content-addressed | URL-addressed |
| Censorship-resistant | Can be taken down |
| No single owner | Company-controlled |
| Free/public nodes | Paid service |

### Are files on IPFS permanent?

Not automatically. Files must be "pinned" to persist. Xorion offers pinning service.

### Is IPFS storage encrypted?

Files are public by default. Xorion encrypts files client-side before upload (AES-256-GCM).

### How much does IPFS storage cost?

Using public IPFS nodes: Free
Pinning services: Varies ($1-10/month typical)
Running own node: Cost of hardware/electricity

### What can I store on IPFS?

Any digital file:
- Documents
- Images/videos
- Website content
- NFT metadata
- Backups

File size limit: ~1GB per file (larger files chunked)

### How do I access my files later?

Via Content Identifier (CID):
- In Xorion: Storage tab → Pinned files
- Web browser: IPFS gateway URL
- Command line: `ipfs cat <CID>`

---

## DAO Governance

### What is DAO governance?

Decentralized Autonomous Organization allows token holders to vote on protocol decisions.

### How do I participate in governance?

1. Hold $XORION tokens
2. Connect wallet to governance portal
3. View active proposals
4. Cast vote (For/Against/Abstain)

### Does voting cost gas?

On Layer 2: No (gasless voting)
On mainnet: Yes, but minimal

### What can I vote on?

- Protocol upgrades
- Treasury spending
- Parameter changes
- Grant allocations
- Team hiring/firing

### Can I delegate my votes?

Yes! Delegate to someone you trust if you can't actively participate. You can redelegate anytime.

### How are proposals created?

Anyone meeting minimum token requirement can:
1. Draft proposal
2. Post on forum for discussion
3. Submit on-chain
4. Campaign for support
5. Vote if passes quorum

### Where does treasury money come from?

- Protocol fees
- Token allocations
- Donations
- Investment returns
