# Contributing
Contributions are welcome, but please do the boring coordination first. Check [docs/tracker/backlog.md](docs/tracker/backlog.md), [docs/tracker/roadmap.md](docs/tracker/roadmap.md), and existing GitHub issues before proposing work.
Open or reference an issue before starting changes that need maintainer discussion, product judgment, or non-trivial review. Direct maintainer conversation is preferred when a design question is still open. PRs opened without a relevant issue may be ignored or closed.
Development workflow, style, tests, automation, and release guidance live under `docs/dev/`. Run the relevant `just` gates before handoff; `just check` is the normal local gate and `just ci` is the test-inclusive gate.
