# Code of Conduct
VantaDB uses a practical contributor standard: discussions should stay respectful, technical, and
focused on improving the project.
## Expected Behavior
- Be direct without being hostile.
- Assume good intent, but ask for evidence when claims affect correctness, safety, or performance.
- Keep issues and pull requests focused on reproducible facts, tradeoffs, and project goals.
- Respect maintainer decisions about product scope, release timing, and CI cost.
## Unacceptable Behavior
- Harassment, threats, personal attacks, or discriminatory language.
- Publishing private information, secrets, exploit details, or local data without permission.
- Repeatedly derailing issues or pull requests after maintainers ask to refocus.
- Misrepresenting benchmarks, security impact, or project capabilities.
## Reporting
For conduct concerns, open a minimal issue asking for a private coordination path. Do not include
sensitive personal information publicly.
Security issues should follow [SECURITY.md](SECURITY.md), not this document.
## Enforcement
Maintainers may edit, hide, lock, or remove comments that violate this standard. Repeated or severe
violations may lead to blocked participation.
