Things is designed to be a replacement / alternative to home assistant. It is easy to use, has a simpler and cleaner UI and is more reliable due to it's different approach to data V, while still alowing for a wide range of customization options and plugins.

Built in rust, things is very robsust and fast, while making sure that there are no runtime errors, so once setup, it could run indefinetely.
