The AAC-LC engine under src/engine/ is original (ISO/IEC 14496-3 /
13818-7). ISO-BMFF demux and product glue are in-tree. Huffman / SWB
tables are ISO numbers, not a third-party decoder dump.
AAC patent exposure is a property of the format (Via LA / former MPEG LA
pool), not of this implementation. The same exposure applies to FFmpeg
and any other AAC decoder or encoder. This repository does not grant patent rights.
Evaluate AAC licensing for your jurisdiction before shipping a product
that decodes or encodes AAC.
