Expand description

State of a thunk’s evaluation lifecycle.

Variants§

§

Pending

Not yet evaluated. Holds the bytecode chunk to execute and captured upvalues for the thunk body.

Fields

§chunk: Rc<Chunk>
§upvalues: Vec<NanBox>
§

LazySource

Lazy source: the thunk body has not been compiled yet. On first force, the source span is compiled and then executed. This avoids compiling thunk bodies that are never forced.

Fields

§source: Rc<String>

Shared source text of the file containing this thunk.

§offset: usize

Byte offset of the expression within the source.

§length: usize

Byte length of the expression.

§base_dir: PathBuf

Base directory for resolving relative imports.

§upvalues: Vec<NanBox>

Captured upvalues (resolved at thunk creation time).

§

NativeCallback(Rc<dyn Fn() -> Result<StringKeyedValue, String>>)

A native Rust callback that produces a value on demand.

Used by the tree-walker bridge to wrap lazy flake input thunks: instead of eagerly forcing all inputs during eval_to_string_keyed, the tree-walker thunk is wrapped in a callback and only evaluated when the VM actually accesses the value.

§

Evaluating

Currently being evaluated – detects infinite recursion (blackhole).

§

Done(Box<VMValue>)

Already evaluated and memoized.
