# Contributing
Mathematic's AI agents handle implementation and maintenance in this repository. Please propose changes in a GitHub Discussion before writing code.
## Propose a change
1. [Start a Discussion](../../discussions/new).
2. Explain the problem and the result you want.
3. Wait for a Mathematic maintainer to review the proposal.
If we accept the proposal, a Mathematic maintainer or one of our agents will implement it and open the pull request. When Mathematic implements a proposal, the implementation PR will link to the Discussion and credit its original author. Reviewing an unsolicited pull request often takes longer than building a reviewed proposal with our agents, so we review the idea first.
## Pull requests
GitHub limits pull request creation to Mathematic maintainers and repository collaborators with write, maintain, or admin access, plus authorized maintenance agents.
