//! # Scattering phase functions
//!
//! ## Scientific scope
//!
//! A scattering phase function `P(λ, θ)` describes the angular
//! redistribution of light scattered by a medium. It is normalised so
//! that its integral over the sphere equals 1 (or 4π, depending on
//! convention) and feeds directly into single-scattering radiative
//! transfer, sky-brightness models, and aerosol retrieval.
//!
//! This module provides:
//!
//! - the dimensionless [`ScatteringFactor`] unit shared across the
//! atmosphere submodules,
//! - a generic [`PhaseFunction`] trait,
//! - the closed-form [`RayleighPhaseFunction`], and
//! - a tabulated implementation [`TabulatedPhaseFunction`] for empirical
//! or Mie phase functions, backed by [`optica::grid::Grid2D`], and
//! - [`super::NormalizedPhaseTable`] for strict unity-normalized atmospheric
//! data with fallible queries (using Optica's distinct value marker).
//!
//! ## Technical scope
//!
//! The legacy phase-function evaluators take typed [`Nanometers`] wavelengths
//! and typed [`crate::qtty::Radians`] scattering angles, and return typed
//! [`Quantity<ScatteringFactor>`] values.
