# Tutorials

Start here if you have not used `rtb-credentials` before. These pages
take you from nothing to something working, and explain what you are
seeing as you go.

| Tutorial | What you end up with | Time |
|---|---|---|
| [Resolve your first credential]resolve-your-first-credential.md | A program that resolves a secret from three different sources, and a first-hand look at the CI refusal. | ~15 min |

Once something is working, the [how-to guides](../how-to/index.md) cover
specific tasks, the [reference](../reference/index.md) gives exact
behaviour, and the [explanation](../explanation/index.md) pages cover
why the crate is shaped the way it is.

## Nothing here needs a real keychain

Every tutorial runs on a laptop, a container or a headless server with
no API keys, no accounts and no system packages. They use `MemoryStore`,
which satisfies the same `CredentialStore` trait the platform keychain
does, so what you learn transfers directly to a real backend.
