We are missing two types of dependencies:
md files dependent on external files (![name][url])
tera files depending on configuration and inclusion.
Why do we need pdfunite(1) from another package? Lets implement our own pdfunite? How hard can it be?
It will be in our rsconstruct project as a prcessor and so will not require launching another process.
