Virtual hardware-in-the-loop runtime: run unmodified firmware on an emulated MCU with every peripheral, chip model and unit of virtual time in Rust, and a fork of QEMU built in to execute the instructions

This product links a program derived from QEMU, which as a whole is
distributed under version 2 of the GNU General Public License. It is not
optional and there is no build of this crate without it, so what you receive
is a combined work under that license, version 2 only. The package states
GPL-2.0-only for that reason.

The Rust sources in this repository are themselves licensed under the MIT
license or the Apache License, Version 2.0, at your option. See LICENSE-MIT and
LICENSE-APACHE. That dual offer is what makes the combination above lawful
rather than a courtesy: the Apache License adds a patent-retaliation condition
that version 2 of the GPL does not permit a licensee to be bound by, so it
cannot be the arm the GPL takes and the MIT license is. Anyone extracting the
Rust sources alone, without the emulator, may take them under either.

The register tables in src/soc/*/generated.rs and src/soc/*/generated/ are the
exception. They are generated from each vendor's CMSIS-SVD file, and each generated file carries
the copyright and license lines of the file it came from. The STM32F427's is
Copyright (c) 2024 STMicroelectronics, under the Apache License, Version 2.0.

The emulator's source is https://gitlab.com/rigless-labs/qemu. A checkout of
this repository carries it as the submodule at qemu/. A copy obtained from a
package registry does not, and its build fetches the source archive for the
commit named in emulator.pin, so the corresponding source for any binary built
from this crate is that repository at that commit, together with this one.
