# RiceCoder TUI - Code Quality and Polish Summary

## Overview
This document summarizes the code quality and polish work completed for the RiceCoder TUI as part of the MVP phase. All subtasks have been completed successfully.
## Subtasks Completed
### 12.1 Fix Compiler Warnings ✅
**Status**: COMPLETE
**Changes Made**:
1. Removed unused `ensure_visible` method in `components.rs` (line 339)
- This method was defined for `ListWidget` with filtering but never called
- Removed to eliminate dead code warning
2. Fixed unused import in `diff_widget_properties.rs`
- Removed unused `DiffViewType` import
3. Fixed unused variables in `core_framework_properties.rs`
- Prefixed `layout` variable with underscore (line 207)
- Prefixed `mode_sequence` variable with underscore (line 337)
**Verification**:
- ✅ `cargo check --all-targets` - Zero warnings
- ✅ `cargo build --release` - Zero warnings
### 12.2 Performance Optimization ✅

**Changes Made**:
1. Created new `performance.rs` module with:
- `LazyMessageHistory`: Implements lazy loading for message history with configurable chunk size and max chunks
- `DiffRenderOptimizer`: Provides optimization hints for rendering large diffs
- `ThemeSwitchPerformance`: Tracks theme switching performance metrics
2. Features:
- **Lazy Loading**: Load messages in chunks to reduce memory usage for large chat histories
- **Diff Optimization**: Detect large diffs and provide optimization recommendations
- **Performance Tracking**: Monitor theme switching performance (target: <100ms)
