Installation

Prerequisites

Building from source

git clone https://github.com/pepa65/rclonedecrypt
cd rclonedecrypt
cargo rel  # The binary gets symlinked to `rclonedecrypt`

Run test

./test.sh

Build different targets

  • Linux: cargo rel (gives standalone static binary)
  • Intel macOS: cargo build --release --target x86_64-apple-darwin
  • Apple Silicon macOS: cargo build --release --target aarch64-apple-darwin
  • Windows (with mingw-w64): cargo build --release --target x86_64-pc-windows-gnu

USAGE: rclonedecrypt [OPTIONS] --output <FILE> --password <PASSWORD> --salt <SALT> <FILE>
OPTIONS:
  -o, --output <FILE>        Output decrypted file
  -p, --password <PASSWORD>  Encryption password
  -s, --salt <SALT>          Salt used for encryption
  -v, --verbose              Enable verbose output
  -h, --help                 Print help
  -V, --version              Print version

Example

`rclonedecrypt encrypted_file.jpg.bin -o decrypted_file.jpg -p 'PASSWORD' -s 'SALT'

Technical Details

  • Algorithm: AES-256-CTR
  • Key derivation: scrypt (N=16384, r=8, p=1)
  • Key size: 256 bits (32 bytes)
  • IV size: 128 bits (16 bytes)
  • Salt size: 64 bits (8 bytes)
