# Governance

## Project Stewardship

Quinjet is maintained by [Pulkit](https://github.com/pulkitxm), who is the
project steward and final decision maker. The steward manages releases,
repository permissions, security response, and the project's technical
direction.

## Decisions

Routine changes are decided through focused issues and pull requests. Larger
features, compatibility changes, and architectural work should begin with a
public issue so the goals and tradeoffs can be discussed before implementation.
Decisions favor user safety, a responsive terminal experience, a coherent
command-line contract, and long-term maintainability.

When consensus is not clear, the steward records the decision and its reasons
in the relevant issue or pull request. Security-sensitive decisions may remain
private until coordinated disclosure is complete.

## Contributions and Maintainers

Anyone may report issues, propose changes, review pull requests, or improve
documentation. Repository permissions may be extended to contributors who
demonstrate sustained, constructive participation, sound judgment, and care
for the project's users. Access can be reduced when a maintainer becomes
inactive or no longer follows the Code of Conduct or security practices.

Contributors retain copyright in their work and provide it under the project's
MIT License when their contribution is accepted.
