Why a date cannot become ProtocolVersion::Unknown.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.

NotAfterKnown

The date is at or before the newest known revision, so Unknown would sort at or below a known variant and break the ordering invariant.
