Discriminator for a syntactic token.

The set is deliberately coarse at this layer — backends map their internal token vocabulary into these kinds. The mapping is backend-private (R20).

Variants

StringLiteral

A string literal ('hello', q'[...]').

NumericLiteral

A numeric literal (42, 3.14, 1e-3).

QuotedIdentifier

A quoted identifier ("My_Table").

Keyword

A PL/SQL or SQL keyword (SELECT, BEGIN, PACKAGE).

BuiltIn

A built-in Oracle function name treated as keyword contextually.

Identifier

An unquoted identifier (EMPLOYEES, v_count).

Semicolon

A semicolon (;).

Slash

A forward slash (/) — statement terminator in SQL*Plus.

Dot

A dot (.).

Comma

A comma (,).

LParen

An opening parenthesis (().

RParen

A closing parenthesis ()).

Assign

An assignment operator (:=).

Arrow

The fat arrow (=>).

Concat

The pipe-pipe concatenation (||).

Operator

Any other operator (+, -, *, /, =, <, >, etc.).

IncludeDirective

An @ or @@ include directive.

StatementTerminator

A / on a line by itself (SQL*Plus statement terminator).

Unknown

The backend could not classify this token.
