pi-oxidized-agent 0.1.1

Agent runtime, tools, scheduling, and event orchestration for pi-oxidized
Documentation

pi-oxidized

pi-oxidized is a Rust implementation of the pi terminal coding agent. The workspace publishes five crates while keeping the established Rust import names and the pi executable name.

Package Rust import / binary Purpose
pi-oxidized pi Command-line application and product runtime
pi-oxidized-ai pi_ai Model providers, authentication, and streaming
pi-oxidized-agent pi_agent Agent loop, tools, scheduling, and events
pi-oxidized-tui pi_tui Terminal UI components, input, and rendering
pi-oxidized-ext pi_ext TypeScript extension-host protocol and adapters

Installation

GitHub releases

Download the archive for your platform from GitHub Releases. Release archives include the pi executable and its source-pinned extension host.

Cargo

Cargo installation is supported on Linux x86_64:

cargo install pi-oxidized

A Cargo install first honors PI_EXTENSION_HOST and a sibling host asset. When extensions are configured and neither is available, Linux x86_64 builds download the matching release host, verify its source-pinned SHA-256, and atomically cache it with owner-only mode 0700.

npm

npm install --global pi-oxidized

The npm distribution installs the platform package, including the extension-host assets.

Extension host

TypeScript extensions execute outside the Rust process in a source-pinned Bun host. The Rust client communicates with that host over a versioned JSONL protocol. Resolution prefers PI_EXTENSION_HOST, then assets installed beside pi, then the verified Linux x86_64 cache/download path; it never searches PATH for an arbitrary host.
