# perfgate-sha256


Minimal SHA-256 implementation for perfgate fingerprinting.

Part of the [perfgate](https://github.com/nicholasgasior/perfgate) workspace.

## Overview


A `#![no_std]`-compatible SHA-256 hash function returning a hexadecimal string.
Designed for fingerprinting and identification, not cryptographic security.
Zero external dependencies.

## Features


- `std` (default) — enables `std` support
- Without `std` — uses `alloc::string::String` only

## Key API


- `sha256_hex(data: &[u8])` — compute SHA-256 and return a 64-char lowercase hex string

## Example

let hash = sha256_hex(b"hello");
assert_eq!(hash, "2cf24dba5fb0a30e26e83b2ac5b9e29e1b161e5c1fa7425e73043362938b9824");
