Resolution order:

  1. AWS_REGION or AWS_DEFAULT_REGION
  2. AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID, AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY, optional AWS_SESSION_TOKEN
  3. AWS_PROFILE (or default) in the shared credentials/config files
