#[non_exhaustive]pub enum Quality {
Fast,
Balanced,
}Expand description
Which tier reads the document: the shipping engine, or the layout model beside it (#641).
Read by crate::PdfDocument::extract_markdown only: a call that returns
blocks (crate::PdfDocument::extract_blocks,
crate::PdfDocument::extract_docling) answers
OptionsError::BalancedIsMarkdownOnly for Quality::Balanced, because
the balanced tier assembles markdown and there are no balanced blocks to
return.
#[non_exhaustive]: best stays a scripts tier for now and arrives here
as a new variant later, which must not break a downstream match.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Fast
The shipping engine: geometric extraction, no model, every build. The default.
Balanced
The balanced tier: the layout model (Heron-ft ep03) regions the page
and the engine’s own text fills them, through balanced_markdown on
a build with the ort-layout cargo feature.
Needs the model and the runtime beside the feature: ONNX Runtime
1.23.2 under ort =2.0.0-rc.13, and the weights installed by an
explicit pdfluent models install layout – nothing is downloaded by
default, ever. Without the feature the call fails with
MODEL_NOT_AVAILABLE naming the feature and the install command;
with it but without the files, with MODEL_NOT_AVAILABLE naming the
path looked at and the install command. ExtractOptions::model_dir
points the tier at a scratch directory, and
ExtractOptions::keep_furniture keeps running heads as paragraphs.
