### ✅ Algorithm Bug Fixes (2025-12-13)
**Ridder's Method (roots.rs):**
- **Bug**: Incorrect formula implementation used `copysign(fa)` instead of `sign(fa - fb)`
- **Fix**: Corrected the Ridder formula: `x_new = c + (c-a) * sign(fa-fb) * fc / sqrt(fc² - fa*fb)`
- **Added**: Fallback to bisection when discriminant is negative
- **Result**: `test_ridder_exponential` now passes (was ignored)
**Richardson Extrapolation (derivative.rs):**
- **Bug**: Step size `hh` was shadowed in loop (`let hh = hh / con;` should be `hh = hh / con;`)
- **Fix**: Changed to proper mutable assignment for step size reduction
- **Result**: `test_richardson_vs_central` now passes (was ignored)
**Clippy & Compiler Warnings:**
- Fixed `map_or` → `is_none_or` (optimize.rs)
- Added `#[allow(clippy::type_complexity)]` for intentional constraint function API
- Removed unused `fb` assignment in `bisect()` (roots.rs)
- Removed unnecessary `mut` in `brentq()` (roots.rs)
**Result**: 1,574 tests passing (986 unit + 588 doc), 0 warnings, 0 clippy issues, 5 ignored (feature-gated only)
### ✅ MINRES Algorithm Fix (2025-12-13)
**Problem**: MINRES algorithm failed to converge for symmetric indefinite systems
**Root Cause**: The Givens rotation formulas only tracked ONE previous rotation (c_{k-1}, s_{k-1})
but MINRES requires tracking TWO previous rotations for correct QR factorization of the tridiagonal
Lanczos matrix.
**Fix**:
- Track both (c_{k-1}, s_{k-1}) and (c_{k-2}, s_{k-2})
- Correct rotation application:
- ε_k = s_{k-2} * β_k (from G_{k-2})
- δ_k = c_{k-1} * c_{k-2} * β_k + s_{k-1} * α_k (from G_{k-1})
- γ̃_k = -s_{k-1} * c_{k-2} * β_k + c_{k-1} * α_k (before new rotation G_k)
**Result**: All 8 MINRES tests now pass (5 were previously ignored)
