# Non-Portable SIMD for Rust
When writing high-performance vectorized code, it is absolutely necessary to
take advantage of architecture-specific SIMD functionality. But this is not
possible in "portable SIMD" libraries which abstract away that functionality.
This Rust library aims to provide a type-safe and high-level interface to work
with platform-specific SIMD intrinsics, providing a more ergonomic experience
over inline assembly or C-like intrinsics.
**Warning**: this library is currently under development, and is not yet
suitable for production use. A high-level API is still being designed, and a
rigorous testing system is yet to be implemented.
