# Release Notes v1.2.2
## 🛡️ **Code Quality Improvements**
### Replaced `unwrap()` with `expect()` for Unreachable Code Paths
Improved code clarity and eliminated coverage gaps by replacing all `.unwrap()` calls in source files with `.expect()` containing descriptive error messages. This change:
- **Clarifies intent**: Each `expect()` message explains why the unwrap cannot fail
- **Eliminates coverage gaps**: Test coverage tools no longer flag these as potential uncovered panic paths
- **Improves debugging**: If the "impossible" does happen, error messages indicate exactly what went wrong
**Files Updated:**
| `src/parameters.rs` | 14 replacements (regex statics, parameter handling) |
| `src/parameter_constraints.rs` | 6 replacements (type validation) |
| `src/query/query_def.rs` | 1 replacement (augmented args) |
| `src/query/query_definitions.rs` | 2 replacements (regex captures) |
**Total: 23 replacements**
**Example:**
```rust
// Before
let num_val = value.as_f64().unwrap();
// After
let num_val = value.as_f64()
.expect("value already validated as numeric type");
```
