# incular-macos
## Architecture and support
| Ownership | macOS desktop entry and native services over the shared desktop host. |
| API class | backend; re-exports and path overrides follow the [architecture contract](https://github.com/FabortLabs/incular/blob/master/system-design/ARCHITECTURE.md). |
| Support | Desktop adapter; macOS runtime behavior requires macOS validation. |
macOS adapter for Incular's shared desktop shell. `incular-desktop` owns the
common Winit/WGPU/AccessKit runner; this crate is the ownership boundary for
AppKit-specific lifecycle, menus, titlebar behavior, and native services.
The display service derives physical usable bounds from `NSScreen.visibleFrame`
as per-monitor insets relative to Winit's physical monitor rectangle. This
preserves Winit's top-left coordinate convention while respecting the menu bar
and Dock, including side-mounted Docks.
Native transient hosts remain Winit/WGPU windows but AppKit establishes the
real ownership relationship with `NSWindow::addChildWindow:ordered:` and removes
it before teardown. This keeps popup z-order/movement tied to the owning native
window without leaking `NSWindow` into the shared desktop shell.
The adapter intentionally does not duplicate or source-include another
platform crate's implementation.
