      <h1>Terms of use</h1>

      <p class="about-lede">
        FeatherReader at feather-reader.com is a personal, experimental service,
        offered for free and as-is. Using it means accepting the terms below.
      </p>

      <h2>An experiment, provided as-is</h2>
      <p>
        FeatherReader is run as a public experiment with <strong>no service-level
        agreement and no uptime guarantee</strong>. It may change, break, slow down,
        or be paused at any time, without notice. Please don't rely on it as your
        only reader — treat it as something to try, not something to depend on.
      </p>

      <h2>Your identity and your data</h2>
      <p>
        You sign in with your own atproto identity, and you are responsible for that
        account and the PDS that hosts it. FeatherReader acts only on your behalf, to
        read and write your own <code>community.lexicon.rss.*</code> records; it does
        not own your data. Because your reading list lives in your PDS, keep your own
        copy where it matters — OPML export is always available.
      </p>

      <h2>Acceptable use</h2>
      <p>
        Please use FeatherReader as intended: to read feeds. Do not use it to break
        the law or infringe others' rights, to attack, overload, or probe the service,
        to circumvent rate limits or abuse controls, or to access feeds you are not
        entitled to. FeatherReader supports <strong>public feeds only</strong> — do
        not use it to store secret or paid-feed credentials.
      </p>

      <h2>The software is open source</h2>
      <p>
        FeatherReader is free software under the
        <a href="{{ repo_url }}" rel="noopener noreferrer">AGPL-3.0</a>. You are
        welcome to read the code, file issues, or run your own copy — a single static
        binary plus a small OAuth sidecar. The instance at feather-reader.com is just
        one deployment, run as a personal experiment.
      </p>

      <h2>No warranty; limitation of liability</h2>
      <p>
        The service is provided <strong>"as is", without warranty of any kind</strong>.
        To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maker is not liable for any damages
        or data loss arising from use of the service or its interruption. Your canonical
        data lives in your PDS and via OPML export, so you always hold a copy.
      </p>

      <h2>Suspension</h2>
      <p>
        Access may be rate-limited, restricted, or paused at any time — for abuse
        prevention, maintenance, or any other reason — without notice.
      </p>

      <h2>Changes to these terms</h2>
      <p>
        These terms may be updated on this page; the "last updated" date below reflects
        the current version, and continued use means accepting it.
      </p>
