Variants (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.

Auto

Leave libass at its default (complex shaping).

Simple

Fast left-to-right shaping only; no ligatures, no bidi. Wrong for Arabic/Hebrew/Indic text, occasionally useful for speed or VSFilter compatibility.

Complex

Full HarfBuzz shaping (ligatures, complex scripts, bidi).
