[header]Step 5 — shell integration[/header]
This pack has shell snippets or a [pack-name]bin/[/pack-name] directory. None of it
reaches your shell until your shell loads dodot's init script.
{% if shell_integration.line_present %}[deployed]✓ already wired up in [/deployed][pack-name]{{ shell_integration.rc_path }}[/pack-name][deployed] — nothing to do.[/deployed]
{% elif shell_integration.supported %}[warning]Not wired up yet.[/warning] One command does it and then checks that it
worked:
[message]dodot install --write[/message]
It writes a marked block to [pack-name]{{ shell_integration.rc_path }}[/pack-name], makes sure your
shell's startup actually reaches that file, and ends on a measured
verdict. I can run it for you now, or you can run it yourself later.
{% else %}dodot can wire up bash and zsh by itself; for your shell
({{ shell_integration.shell_kind }}) it won't guess a startup file. If you haven't already, add
this line to whatever file your shell reads at startup:
[message]{{ shell_integration.eval_line }}[/message]
Or name the file yourself: [message]dodot install --write --rc <file>[/message]{% endif %}
