  - Previous custom writer generated ZIP/XML that calamine could read, but Excel and Numbers could not open the files
  - Root cause: missing required OOXML elements (`sheetPr`, `sheetFormatPr`, `pageMargins`, `selection`, `bookViews`, `calcPr`, `diagonal` in borders)
  - Compared generated output byte-by-byte against openpyxl (Python) reference files to identify every structural gap
  - Rewrote `src/excel/xlsx_writer/xml_gen.rs` to produce spec-compliant OOXML
  - Key fixes:
    - Added `<sheetPr>` with `outlinePr` and `pageSetUpPr`
    - Added `<sheetFormatPr baseColWidth="8" defaultRowHeight="15"/>`
    - Added `<pageMargins>` element (required by Numbers/Excel)
    - Added `<selection>` inside `<sheetView>` for proper cursor positioning
    - Added `<workbookPr/>`, `<bookViews>`, `<calcPr>` to workbook.xml
    - Added `<diagonal/>` to border elements
    - Added `<tableStyles>` to styles.xml
    - Number cells now use explicit `t="n"` type attribute
