Scan

Scan for recoverable sessions from various sources

Fields

§provider: String

Provider to scan: vscode, cursor, all (default: all)

§verbose: bool

Show detailed information about each session

§include_old: bool

Include sessions older than normal retention period

Recording

Recover sessions from the recording API server

Fields

§server: String

Server URL (default: http://localhost:8787)

§session: Option<String>

Only recover specific session ID

§output: Option<String>

Output directory for recovered sessions

Database

Recover sessions from SQLite database backups

Path to the database backup file

§session: Option<String>

Extract specific session by ID

§output: Option<String>

Output directory for recovered sessions

Output format: json, jsonl, md (default: json)

Jsonl

Recover sessions from incomplete/corrupted JSONL files

Path to the JSONL file to repair

Output file for recovered sessions (default: same name with .recovered suffix)

Attempt aggressive recovery (may produce incomplete sessions)

Orphans

List sessions from VS Code’s workspaceStorage that may be orphaned

Include both JSON and JSONL formats if available

Include editing session fragments (agent mode work)

Detect

Detect and display session format and version information

Session file to analyze (.json or .jsonl)

Show raw format detection details

Output detection result as JSON

Upgrade

Upgrade session files to the current provider format (JSON to JSONL for VS Code 1.109+)

Fields

Project paths to upgrade (space-separated)

§provider: String

Provider to use: vscode, cursor, auto (default: auto-detect)

§target_format: String

Target format: jsonl (VS Code 1.109+), json (legacy). Default: jsonl

Skip creating backup of original files

Dry run - show what would be upgraded without making changes
