# apt repository for captchaforge

The `.github/workflows/release.yml` workflow uploads `.deb` packages
built from the linux binaries (via `cargo-deb`) to the GitHub
Release. To stand up a hosted apt repo, see below.

## Quick install (one-off `.deb` from a release)

```bash
curl -L -o captchaforge.deb \
  https://github.com/santhsecurity/captchaforge/releases/download/v0.2.31/captchaforge_0.2.31_amd64.deb
sudo apt install ./captchaforge.deb
```

## Self-hosted apt repo

1. Generate a signing keypair:
   ```bash
   gpg --gen-key   # captchaforge-deploy@santh.dev
   ```
2. Use `aptly` / `reprepro` to populate a repo from the `.deb`
   uploaded by each release.
3. Publish via GitHub Pages or a static-asset CDN:
   ```
   deb https://apt.santh.dev/captchaforge stable main
   ```
4. Operators add the key + repo:
   ```bash
   curl -fsSL https://apt.santh.dev/keyring.gpg | sudo gpg --dearmor -o /usr/share/keyrings/santh-archive.gpg
   echo "deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/santh-archive.gpg] https://apt.santh.dev/captchaforge stable main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/captchaforge.list
   sudo apt update && sudo apt install captchaforge
   ```

## What ships in the `.deb`

- `/usr/bin/captchaforge` (stripped release binary)
- `/usr/share/man/man1/captchaforge.1.gz` (TODO — generate from clap)
- `/usr/share/doc/captchaforge/README.md`
- `/usr/share/doc/captchaforge/CHANGELOG.md`

Depends: `chromium` | `chromium-browser` | `google-chrome-stable`
Recommends: `tesseract-ocr`, `espeak-ng`
