pub struct SpringConfig {

    pub mass: f32,
    pub epsilon: f32,
}
Expand description

Configuration for a damped harmonic oscillator spring.

Use one of the named presets for common feels, or tune the parameters directly.

§Presets

PresetStiffnessDampingFeel
gentle()6014Slow, soft
wobbly()18012Bouncy, playful
stiff()21020Fast, firm
slow()3714Very slow, lazy
snappy()30030Near-instant

§Example

use animato_spring::SpringConfig;

let cfg = SpringConfig::wobbly();
assert_eq!(cfg.stiffness, 180.0);

Fields§

§stiffness: f32

Restoring force. Higher = snappier. Default: 100.0.

§damping: f32

Resistance to motion. Higher = less bouncy. Default: 10.0.

§mass: f32

Mass of the simulated object. Default: 1.0.

§epsilon: f32

Settle threshold — spring is considered at rest when both |position - target| < epsilon and |velocity| < epsilon. Default: 0.001.

Implementations§

Source§

impl SpringConfig

Source

pub fn gentle() -> Self

Slow, soft spring — good for subtle UI elements.

Source

pub fn wobbly() -> Self

Bouncy, playful spring — great for icons and interactive elements.

Source

pub fn stiff() -> Self

Fast, firm spring — good for panels and drawers.

Source

pub fn slow() -> Self

Very slow, lazy spring — good for background animations.

Source

pub fn snappy() -> Self

Near-instant response — for time-critical feedback.
