Vec3

Struct Vec3

Source
pub struct Vec3 {
    pub x: f32,
    pub y: f32,
    pub z: f32,
}
Expand description

A point or a direction in a 3D scene. Scene space uses logical pixels with x to the right, y down and z away from the viewer, so a scene seen from straight ahead lines up with the screen.

Fields§

§x: f32

Distance to the right.

§y: f32

Distance down.

§z: f32

Distance away from the viewer.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Vec3

Source

pub const ZERO: Vec3

The origin.

Source

pub const fn new(x: f32, y: f32, z: f32) -> Vec3

A vector from its three coordinates.

Source

pub const fn to_array(self) -> [f32; 3]

The vector as an array of its coordinates.

Source

pub const fn from_array(_: [f32; 3]) -> Vec3

The vector from an array of its coordinates.

Source

pub fn dot(self, other: Vec3) -> f32

The dot product.

Source

pub fn cross(self, other: Vec3) -> Vec3

The cross product. In scene space x cross y is z.

Source

pub fn length(self) -> f32

The vector’s length.

Source

pub fn normalized(self) -> Option<Vec3>

The vector scaled to length one, or None for a vector of no length.

Source

pub fn lerp(self, other: Vec3, t: f32) -> Vec3

The point t of the way from self to other.

Source

pub fn min(self, other: Vec3) -> Vec3

The lower of each coordinate of self and other.

Source

pub fn max(self, other: Vec3) -> Vec3

The higher of each coordinate of self and other.
