§pick: Candidate

The candidate whose stream was kept.

§tried: Vec<(Candidate, usize, f64)>

Every candidate encoded: (candidate, stream bytes, encode seconds).

§skipped: Vec<Candidate>

Candidates the pre-screen skipped.

§probe_rank: usize

Pre-screen QTT probe max rank (see prescreen).
