This helps the selector choose appropriately-sized models. A simple extraction task doesn’t need a 400B parameter model.

Classification - categorize input into predefined buckets. Example: Sentiment analysis, topic classification.

Reasoning - multi-step logic, inference, analysis. Example: Analyze trade-offs, identify root causes.

Generation - create substantial new content. Example: Write an article, generate code.
