Tolerance

Struct Tolerance

Source
pub struct Tolerance {
    pub atol: Option<f64>,
    pub rtol: Option<f64>,
    pub factor: Option<f64>,
}
Expand description

The acceptance rule of a measured value $v$ against an expected value $e$: $|v - e| \le a + r |e|$ (with atol $a$ or rtol $r$), or $e/f \le v \le f e$ (with factor $f$, for error rates over several decades); either rule suffices.

Fields§

§atol: Option<f64>

Absolute tolerance.

§rtol: Option<f64>

Tolerance relative to the expected value.

§factor: Option<f64>

Factor, at least 1.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Tolerance

Source

pub fn is_set(&self) -> bool

Whether a rule is given.

Source

pub fn accepts(&self, v: f64, e: f64) -> bool

Whether v is accepted for e.

§Examples
use comnum_spec::verify::Tolerance;
let t = Tolerance { factor: Some(2.0), ..Tolerance::default() };
assert!(t.accepts(1.9e-3, 1e-3) && !t.accepts(2.1e-3, 1e-3));
