ToolError

Enum ToolError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum ToolError { NotFound(String), InvalidArgs(String), ExecutionFailed(String), PermissionDenied { tool: String, reason: String, }, FileNotFound(String), InvalidPath(String), Timeout(u64), }
Expand description

Error type for tool execution.

Covers the common failure modes: unknown tool, bad arguments, runtime failures, permission issues, and timeouts.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

NotFound(String)

The requested tool was not found in the registry.

§

InvalidArgs(String)

The arguments provided to the tool are invalid.

§

ExecutionFailed(String)

The tool execution failed at runtime.

§

PermissionDenied

The caller lacks permission to invoke this tool.

tool is the name of the tool that was denied. reason explains why (not in allowlist, explicitly denied, insufficient level, missing custom permission).

Fields

§tool: String
§reason: String
§

FileNotFound(String)

A file or resource the tool needs was not found.

§

InvalidPath(String)

A filesystem path is invalid or traverses outside allowed boundaries.

§

Timeout(u64)

The tool execution exceeded the allowed time limit.
