Per-column statistics stored in the catalog for pruning.

Contains the column name, data type, and min/max statistics so the pruning pipeline can eliminate segments without opening any file.

Fields

name: String

Column name (e.g. “temperature”, “host”).

data_type: u8

Column data type tag (from crate::segment::metadata::data_types).

role: u8

Column role tag (0= timestamp, 1= tag, 2= field).

decimal_scale: Option<u8>

Digits after the decimal point, for a decimal column; None otherwise.

Here as well as in the segment because the schema repair at open works from this summary and never opens a .csx file: without the scale, a decimal column the manifest had lost could only be restored as some other type, which is worse than not restoring it.

stats: ColumnStats

Min/max/null statistics.
