Schema validation and evolution errors.

Variants§

§

EmptyName

Name is empty.

Fields

§label: String

Which entity had the empty name (e.g., “measurement name”, “tag key”).

§

NameTooLong

Name exceeds maximum length.

Fields

§label: String

Which entity exceeded the limit.

§length: usize

Actual byte length.

§max: usize

Maximum allowed length.

§

NullByte

Name contains null byte.

Fields

§label: String

Which entity contained the null byte.

§

InvalidCharacter

Name/value contains a character that would break the canonical form encoding (e.g. = in tag values).

Fields

§label: String

Which entity contained the invalid character.

§ch: char

The forbidden character.

§value: String

The offending value for diagnostic context.

§

TooManyTags

Too many tags on a series key.

Fields

§count: usize

Actual tag count.

§max: usize

Maximum allowed.

§

EmptyFields

Point has no fields.

§

TooManyFields

Too many fields on a single point.

Fields

§count: usize

Actual field count.

§max: usize

Maximum allowed.

§

InvalidFieldValue

A field value failed validation (e.g., non-finite f64, oversized string).

Fields

§field: String

Field name with the invalid value.

§reason: String

Why the value is invalid.

§

TypeConflict

Type conflict: a field already exists with a different type.

Fields

§measurement: String

Measurement name where the conflict occurred.

§field: String

Field name with the type conflict.

§expected: String

The existing (expected) type.

§got: String

The conflicting (received) type.

§

DecimalScaleConflict

A decimal value carries more fractional digits than its column declares, so storing it would have to round.

Separate from TypeConflict because the fix is different: the types agree, the scale does not, and the writer either rounds the value itself or declares the column with the scale it needs before the first write.

Fields

§measurement: String

Measurement name where the conflict occurred.

§field: String

Field name with the scale conflict.

§declared: u8

The column’s declared scale.

§got: u8

The value’s scale.

§value: String

The offending value, rendered exactly.

§

MeasurementNotFound(String)

Measurement not found.

§

LockPoisoned(String)

Internal lock was poisoned (indicates a prior panic while holding the lock).

§

InvalidName

An entity name failed validation.

Fields

§name: String

The invalid name.

§reason: String

Why the name is invalid.
