A single message in a chat

Fields

role: Option<String>

The role of the message, such as “user” or “assistant”.

name: Option<String>

Some providers support this natively. For those that don’t, the name will be prepended to the message using the format “{name}: {content}”.

content: Option<String>

Text content of the message

tool_calls: Vec<ToolCall>

A tool call to be invoked

tool_call_id: Option<String>

A tool call ID when responding to the tool call.
