Errors produced by the generated REST client transport layer.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Problem
The server returned a structured RFC 9457 Problem payload.
Fields
problem: Box<Problem>The structured RFC 9457 problem payload. Boxed: Problem itself is
large enough (several String/Value fields) that an unboxed copy
here would make TransportError — and therefore every
Result<_, TransportError> return type across the crate — bloat
past clippy’s result_large_err threshold.
HttpStatus
The server returned a non-success status with a non-Problem body.
Fields
Grpc
The gRPC server returned a non-OK status. Preserves the original
tonic::Code so callers can map it back to canonical categories
without losing information through an HTTP-status detour.
Fields
Network(Box<dyn Error + Sync + Send>)
Low-level network failure (DNS, connect, TLS, mid-flight reset).
Timeout(Duration)
The total deadline elapsed before the response was complete.
Serialization(Box<dyn Error + Sync + Send>)
Request or response (de)serialization failure.
Sse(Box<dyn Error + Sync + Send>)
Server-Sent Events stream error (frame parse, malformed event, etc.).
UrlBuild(String)
URL construction error (missing path parameter, invalid template).
Unresolved
The providing gear could not be resolved to a live endpoint via the service directory: it has not registered yet, or every instance was evicted (e.g., the provider pod went away). Treated as transient — the directory-resolving client re-resolves on the next call and recovers once a live instance reappears.
Implementations§
Source§impl TransportError
impl TransportError
Sourcepub fn network<E>(err: E) -> TransportError
pub fn network<E>(err: E) -> TransportError
Convenience constructor for TransportError::Network from any
boxable error. Preserves the source via Error::source().
Sourcepub fn serialization<E>(err: E) -> TransportError
pub fn serialization<E>(err: E) -> TransportError
Convenience constructor for TransportError::Serialization from any
boxable error. Preserves the source via Error::source().
Sourcepub fn sse<E>(err: E) -> TransportError
pub fn sse<E>(err: E) -> TransportError
Convenience constructor for TransportError::Sse from any boxable
error. Preserves the source via Error::source().
Sourcepub fn unresolved(gear: impl Into<String>) -> TransportError
pub fn unresolved(gear: impl Into<String>) -> TransportError
Convenience constructor for TransportError::Unresolved.
Sourcepub fn problem(problem: Problem) -> TransportError
pub fn problem(problem: Problem) -> TransportError
Convenience constructor for TransportError::Problem with no
server-advised Retry-After.
Sourcepub fn retry_after(&self) -> Option<Duration>
pub fn retry_after(&self) -> Option<Duration>
Server-advised retry delay (Retry-After), when the error carries one.
Carried by both TransportError::HttpStatus (non-Problem peers) and
TransportError::Problem (canonical-error peers), parsed from the
response header. Returns None for all other error classes.
Sourcepub fn is_transient(&self) -> bool
pub fn is_transient(&self) -> bool
Whether this error class is generally safe to retry without a higher-level
idempotency strategy. Used by crate::runtime::retry when a method is
declared #[retryable].

Source§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};

Returns a styled value derived from self with the background set to

This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like on_red() and
on_green(), which have the same functionality but
are pithier.
§Example
Set background color to red using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};

Source§fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the styling Attribute value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example
Make text bold using attr():
use yansi::{Paint, Attribute};
painted.attr(Attribute::Bold);Make text bold using using bold().

Source§fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the yansi Quirk value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use quirk-specific
builder methods like mask() and
wrap(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():
use yansi::{Paint, Quirk};
painted.quirk(Quirk::Wrap);Enable wrapping using wrap().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.wrap();Source§fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
Source§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the Condition value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);Source§impl<T> PolicyExt for Twhere
