NetworkError

Enum NetworkError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum NetworkError { RequestFailed { status: u16, message: String, }, Timeout, ConnectionFailed(String), DnsResolution(String), Ssl(String), Transport(Box<dyn StdError + Send + Sync + 'static>), }
Expand description

Encapsulated network errors hiding implementation details.

This type wraps all network-related errors without exposing third-party library types (like reqwest::Error) in the public API. This ensures API stability even when underlying HTTP libraries change.

§Retryable Errors

The following variants are considered retryable:

§Example

use ccxt_core::error::{Error, NetworkError};

fn handle_network_error(err: NetworkError) {
    match &err {
        NetworkError::RequestFailed { status, message } => {
            println!("HTTP {}: {}", status, message);
        }
        NetworkError::Timeout => {
            println!("Request timed out, consider retrying");
        }
        NetworkError::ConnectionFailed(msg) => {
            println!("Connection failed: {}", msg);
        }
        _ => println!("Network error: {}", err),
    }
}

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

RequestFailed

Request failed with HTTP status code.

Fields

§status: u16

HTTP status code

§message: String

Error message

§

Timeout

Request timed out.

§

ConnectionFailed(String)

Connection failed.

§

DnsResolution(String)

DNS resolution failed.

§

Ssl(String)

SSL/TLS error.

§

Transport(Box<dyn StdError + Send + Sync + 'static>)

Opaque transport error for underlying issues. Uses Box<dyn StdError> to hide implementation details while preserving the source.
