Compiler phase selection. Later phases have more analysis results available, but are less robust against broken code. (For example, phase 3 provides typechecking results, but can't be used on code that doesn't typecheck.)
Variants
Phase1Phase 1: Runs on the source code immediately after parsing, before macro expansion.
Phase2Phase 2: Runs after macro expansion and name resolution have finished.
Phase3Phase 3: Runs after typechecking has finished.
