Expand description

Everything that can stop a download from reaching the caller’s directory.

Every variant names the file or directory it is about: a download that failed is reported by its own name, not by a generic I/O message that leaves the caller guessing which of several downloads is missing.

Variants§

§

OutsideRoot

A name would have placed the file outside the managed directory.

Fields

§name: String

The name that was refused.

§root: PathBuf

The managed download directory.

§

RelativeDirectory

downloads.directory was empty or relative.

Fields

§directory: String

What the caller passed.

§

DirectoryNotCreated

The download directory could not be created.

Fields

§root: PathBuf

The directory that was asked for.

§source: Error

The underlying failure.

§

DirectoryNotWritable

The download directory exists but cannot be written to.

Fields

§root: PathBuf

The directory that was probed.

§source: Error

The underlying failure.

§

NameTaken

The name is taken and the conflict policy forbids replacing it.

Fields

§path: PathBuf

The file that would have been replaced.

§

NoFreeName

Every renamed candidate was taken too.

Fields

§name: String

The name that was being placed.

§attempts: usize

How many candidates were tried.

§

Rejected

The caller’s validation returned false.

Fields

§name: String

The download that was rejected.

§

ValidationFailed

The caller’s validation itself failed.

Fields

§name: String

The download that was being validated.

§reason: String

The validator’s own message, kept verbatim.

§

Io

Reading or writing a file failed.

Fields

§path: PathBuf

The file involved.

§source: Error

The underlying failure.

§

CaptureTimeout

No download settled inside the capture’s budget.

Fields

§timeout_ms: u64

The budget that expired, in milliseconds.

§

DownloadFailed

A download settled without a file.

A failed or cancelled download is never reported as a success, which is the whole point of settling a capture on the artifact’s state rather than on the mere arrival of an event.

Fields

§id: String

Identifier of the download.

§state: String

failed or cancelled.

§failure: String

Whatever the engine or the store reported, kept verbatim.

§

ActionFailed

The action a capture was told to run failed.

Fields

§reason: String

The action’s own message, kept verbatim.

§

Unsupported

Downloads cannot be managed for this engine.

Fields

§engine: String

Engine the caller asked for.

§reason: String

Why it cannot be supported, rather than a silent no-op.

§

Transport

Talking to the browser failed.

Fields

§reason: String

The engine’s own message, kept verbatim.
