#[repr(u8)]pub enum RetrieverWire {
Semantic = 0,
Lexical = 1,
Graph = 2,
}Expand description
Retriever family selector, as carried inside RetrieverSelectionWire.
Encodes as the variant-name string, not the discriminant. #[repr(u8)]
is a memory-layout hint; serde ignores it because this derives plain
Serialize, not serde_repr::Serialize_repr. So
Explicit([Semantic, Graph]) goes on the wire as
{"Explicit": ["Semantic", "Graph"]}.
The discriminants are kept because the server pins them for its own storage,
and because RetrieverNameWire — the response-side twin that really is an
integer — shares them. Reading #[repr(u8)] as “this is an integer on the
wire” is what previously made the Python and TypeScript SDKs send 0/2
here, which the server cannot deserialize.
